Building Revelry While Becoming a Mother (Again)

Published on 5 January 2026 at 11:00

When I found out I was pregnant with my third child, my first reaction wasn’t excitement — it was fear.

I had just launched Revelry Events the year before. This was my first truly busy wedding season, the year everything I had worked for was finally taking off. My calendar was filling quickly, inquiries were pouring in, and momentum was building. And suddenly, I was staring at a positive pregnancy test wondering how on earth I was going to do it all.

I questioned everything.

Was this the wrong time?

Would I have to turn weddings away?

Could my body, my heart, and my business handle another baby?

What followed was one of the most challenging — and empowering — seasons of my life.

That year, I was apart of  25 weddings while pregnant and postpartum.

Seven of those weddings were worked with a newborn, some when my baby was as young as one week old, shortly after a C-section.

It wasn’t glamorous.

It wasn’t easy.

And there were moments I truly thought about giving up.

There were long days on my feet while pregnant, swollen ankles hidden under professional smiles, and exhaustion that no amount of coffee could touch. There were early mornings pumping, late nights packing timelines, and quiet moments in the car where I questioned whether I was being pulled in too many directions.

Working weddings with a newborn brought an entirely new level of challenge. Healing from surgery while managing the physical demands of event days tested me in ways I never expected. I was learning how to care for a brand-new life while still showing up fully for my couples — because they trusted me with one of the most important days of their lives.

And somehow… I did it.

Not perfectly.

Not without tears.

Not without moments of doubt.

But I did it.

What carried me through was my deep love for Revelry Events and the people behind every wedding. The couples who welcomed me into their stories, trusted me, encouraged me, and reminded me why I started this business in the first place. Each wedding reaffirmed that this work isn’t just a job — it’s a calling.

Last season taught me how strong I really am.

Stronger than fear.

Stronger than exhaustion.

Stronger than the voice telling me I couldn’t do both.

Being a mother of three and a business owner isn’t about balance — it’s about resilience, adaptability, and heart. It’s about showing up even when it’s hard, because something meaningful is on the other side.

Revelry holds a place near and dear to me because it was built in one of the most vulnerable, demanding seasons of my life — and it thrived anyway. Just like I did.

If you’re a mom, an entrepreneur, or someone standing at the edge of something big and scary, I hope my story reminds you of this:

You are capable of more than you think.

Even when the timing feels wrong.

Even when the road is hard.

Sometimes the most beautiful growth happens when we decide not to quit.
